What is SADD????
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) is a youth organization that promotes teen empowerment and uses peer influence to spread the message of positive decision-making. The SADD organization is comprised of thousands of high school chapters that embrace a "No Use" policy and help educate their peers about potentially destructive decisions regarding unnderage drinking, impaired driving, other drug use, violence and suicide.
Originally, the mission of SADD was to help young people say "No" to drinking and driving. Today, that mission has expanded. Students have told us that positive peer pressure, role models and other strategies can help them say "No" to more than drinking and driving. And that is why SADD has become a teen empowerment organization dedicated to preventing underage drinking and other drug use by focusing attention on the potentially life-threatening consequences of destructive decisions involving issues such as not wearing a seat belt, smoking, steroid use, violence, sexually transmitted diseases and suicide.
SADD's mission is simply stated: To provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, impaired driving, drug abuse and other destructive decisions.
